will miss you
Dr. Tompkins did my carpal tunnel surgery, both Achilles, both knees and rotator cuff over the years. I am sad to see him retire but I certainly understand. He has kept me from falling apart over the years, I guess it's time to pass that torch on to another doctor. Enjoy retirement! Wanda C.

Check in & out, X-ray, nursing and Dr. Tompkins, A+. Dr. Tompkins was thorough in his assessment. He explained the X-ray results and past lab work, examined me, and asked questions. He also reviewed over need for additional tests regarding swelling in my knee. He and his nurse (Cindy) were practical in their explanations but also meticulous when working with me and they did not rush through the exam. Oh, I failed to mention that this was my first exam at TOA and I was assessed by the MD. When I was leaving, Cindy encouraged me to call or e-mail if I had questions. Wow. I had an excellent appointment and anxious to return for my follow up. Do not hesitate making an appointment and coming to see Dr. Tompkins. They are an A+, a 10, etc.

After multiple visits for hip pain for three months, I finally sought a second opinion. This physician just wanted to give me steroid injections to put bandaids on my issue, got an initial xray and later an MRI on one hip. He prescribed a medication and PT for a month. It was evident he didn’t know what to do with me other than give me injections. I went to the second opinion who repeated xrays, told me I had abnormalities within my hips and that my labrum was ossified (bone overgrowth) and it was hindering the mobility of my hips. She made a full plan, and did steroid injections - this time with an ultrasound to make sure it got into the joint. It was a totally different experience. Dr. Tompkins may be great with some things, but he missed the mark with me. Especially when this could have been diagnosed with the initial xray. As far as scheduling, I got a phone call with every appointment asking me to either change the date or time. It got to where I was expecting it.

Had already read the X-rays and came in ready to explain what was found and the treatment recommended. Answered all questions presented in terms I could understand. Didn’t make you feel thatcher had to move on to the next patient.

Very Friendly Staff…Doctor? Eh.
Front desk person and X-Ray tech were awesome. Doctor was just OK. I waited an hour and 15 minutes past my appointment time before seeing the doctor, who kinda seemed disinterested. Doctor spent five minutes with me. Going to a follow-up in four weeks. We’ll see if my experience improves on the next visit. Hopefully I won’t have to wait around as long next time.
