I was seen in the hospital for abdominal pain and had the unfortunate luck of getting this MD assigned to me as the on-call MD. He never actually examined me- he never felt my abdomen, listened to my lungs..... nothing. My gallbladder scans were normal, however he was still going to take it out. I had to insist on further testing and CT scans to identify my source of pain. Turns out I had appendicitis and needed it removed emergently. If I had not insisted on having additional testing, he would have needlessly tried to take out my gallbladder and I would have died at home from a ruptured appendix. I wouldn't send my worse enemy to this MD. BTW - I've been an a nurse for over 20 years and have never seen such a poor Physician, let along a Surgeon. Stay away from him.

I had an abdominal ultrasound done at an ER in Des Moines showing gall stones . Went to Dr. White to have my gallbladder removed. He ordered a CT abdominal scan which showed everything normal. After a couple of months of terrible pain and following a gallstone diet I went to a different doctor who said an ultrasound will show gallstones where a CT scan may or may not show them. I went back to Des Moines had my glad bladder removed which did have several stones. This useless scan Dr. White ordered cost Medicare $1000, cost me $700 and a couple more months of pain. Several doctors and nurses knew the differences in the 2 types of scans, why didn't Dr. White?

Dr. White is one of the best surgeons in Omaha. He did an amazing job and kept me informed every step of the way. I highly recommend him for any surgery that you need. He talks to you so that you understand everything and has a great "bedside manner."

Performed hernia surgery and said the pain after was from a 20 year old back injury not from surgery he performed. Recommended going to a pain specialist instead of checking for actual source of pain. Second surgeon consulted said pain was likely from the tacks used to hold the mesh in the hernia repair. Second surgery was only able to remove a few of the tacks, the rest are too imbedded and require surgery that needs to be done in one of two renowned hospitals out of state. Listen to patients!

Dr White is an excellent surgeon, but his PA, Angie, is the rudest, harshest person on earth! She talks down to the patients! Unfortunately, she has caused me to seek another surgeon! One day, he will wonder where all his patients went. Too bad for such a fine doctor.
