All reviews are confirmed and audited before publication, and community members have the ability to flag inappropriate content for further review by our team.

Dr. Spurling laughed off my mother's symptoms and claimed it to be IBS without doing any further testing. Went to a different GI doctor and she's confirmed to have mild gastroparesis. If he would have bothered doing additional testing it would have saved us a lot of grief and pain. If you want a good GI doctor you have to go to North Carolina instead.

My time with Dr Spurling may have been one of the less enjoyable times I've ever had in a medical setting. For context, I am a very relaxed person who very rarely complains. If my food is wrong at a restaurant, I'll eat it and tip well. If my mechanic gets my car seats dirty while working on my car, I genuinely understand, he has a job to do. But my experience today was quite unsettling and felt very overlooked and uncaring. I don't know what details I can put in a review without it getting taken down for having sensitive info in it, so I will be as descriptive as I can reasonably be. Imagine suffering from immense episodes of pain several times in your life. After experiencing such a horrific incident, you want to ensure it never happens again, so you begin to research what is going on. After immense amounts of research, hours of understanding and time spent combing through medical journals to understand your body, you decide to go see a doctor now that you understand what's wrong

Not just a great doctor who goes way over and above to provide the best of care but also a fine man and someone I consider a friend. When I was in ICU in a coma the last time I had a bowel resection he came and visited and spent time with my wife and family, and more than a week later he came and visited me when I had finally made it to a regular hospital room. This is a very special man and doctor who really cares about his patients. I have the utmost confidence in him and respect for him.

Very upfront with the information I asked for, scheduled my procedure that day and called my prescription in the same day without me having to ask. None of my other doctors will do that.
