Dr. Tina-Ann Thompson, MD

I started going to Rockbridge Medicine as a young adult and trusted them to see the rest of my family as well, including my mom. Our doctor was Dr. Tina An Kerr Thompson and she was great in the beginning. However, as time went on she got less attentive and didn't take our concerns seriously. This was concerning because she is a black woman so we thought she we understand how black women are more likely to be misdiagnosed or their symptoms ignored and that she would be more attentive. But that was not the case. She actually ignored my moms symptoms that ended up being stage four breast cancer. After us being patients for over a decade, she didn't even have the descency to deliver the news or follow up with her until she called to request to speak with her directly. My mom trusted her and believed in her and she failed her. She also scheduled my mom for breast surgery and never did a full body scan when all along the cancer was everywhere. I have been seeing Dr. Thompson for about 15 years and wouldn’t go to anyone else. I no longer live in Metro-Atlanta so for last 3 years I’ve driven 2 hours each way in to continue going to her. The nurses in her office are awesome too. It takes a long time to get an appointment with Dr. Thompson now (she’s generally booked a couple of months out) but if your sick or need to be seen more quickly, they can get you in much faster if you take an appointment with a PA.

I have been seeing Dr Thompson since the beginning of her career. She has always been a good listener and never rushes through my visit. Fortunate to have a family physician who is so caring!

If you care about your health and your body, you will drive passed this place. The staff is very unprofessional. The medical assistants talk and laugh about patients and their medical issues ( HUGE HIPAA VIOLATION) and you will not receive the adequate services and care that you should receive. for instance, if you are supposed to receive certain vaccinations according to your age and/ or health, they will not give those vaccinations to you. I moved to South Carolina from 2 miles from her office 2 years ago. She is so good as my doctor that I drive 1 1/2 hours to see her. I have been seeing her now for over 7 years.

Absolutely cut out for the work that she does, approachable, professional and beautiful inside and out! My experience with her was very brief, but I was able to obtain all of that from the 1st visit! Ha! Because B___k G___S ROCK!

Dr. Thompson is very caring and very stern when needed.

Dr. Thompson's bedside manners are impeccable she listen to you and take time to really hear what her patients are saying. Old soul in a young body. Grateful she is my physician.
