Dr. Ujwala Rajgopal, MD

Many years ago, Dr. Rajgopal performed my double mastectomy. She was professional, empathetic, patient, reassuring, and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend her.

My experiences with Dr. Rajgopal have been very positive. She has performed 2 hernia surgeries and a cholecystectomy on me in the past decade and all the surgeries have been successful. She took time explaining the pros and cons of each surgery and was very patient with my many questions and is a caring physician. In addition, Dr. Rajgopal makes sure to schedule adequate follow up appointments after the surgery (1 week, 1 month, 3 months). I feel safe under her medical care. I would highly recommend her as a surgeon!

My wife required emergency abdominal surgery for diverticulitis & a perforated colon while vacationing in the San Diego area. It was a life threatening situation. I feel fortunate & grateful that Dr. Rajgopal was selected as my wife's surgeon; Dr. Rajgopal saved her life! Afterwards Dr. Rajgopal spent considerable time explaining the surgery & required care necessary during my wife's recovery. Outstanding doctor. Her straightforward , no nonsense approach allows patients to see choices clearly. She views the patient in their entirety and weighs pros and cons of each alternative. She is not afraid to give her opinion, which I really appreciated and offers practical solutions before resorting to drastic measures. She does all the tests and doesn't skip steps.She is highly intelligent and has vast experience and impeccable credentials as well as a lot of intuition. I highly recommend her

Several years ago I had to have an inguinal hernia surgery which is when Dr. Raj told me I had a naval problem and I should take care lifting. At a robust 70 yrs i did not follow her advise and so last month she repaired my naval hernia. Well done in all respects. Fine person too!
