Dr. Veronica Smidt, MD

She told me my symptoms were all in my head and said that, since I’m a therapist, I should know how to handle my own anxiety. She also pushed and IUD or implant on me when I was trying to have an open conversation about getting OFF birth control that I had been on for over 5 years. She said if I make this decision, I WILL get pregnant. I am unfortunately not even fertile and had to undergo IVF. She is the least sensitive and informed practitioner I’ve ever seen. If she was having a bad day, she didn’t need to take it out on a patient who once trusted her.

Dr. Smidt has been my doctor for several years. She is friendly and listens to what the patient has to say. She is good at explaining things and makes sure you understand any procedures that may be necessary. Her staff is very friendly as well.

She made me feel comfortable and welcome; she took time with me; she explained everything clearly. This was my first visit with her and I am grateful to have found her. Her nurse assistant and other office staff were very nice and friendly.

I saw Dr. Smidt today for the fist time. I was impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. Also, Dr. Smidt was very competent and thorough, and at the same time was relaxed and warm. I did not feel rushed at all. I had a very positive experience.

I feel very well taken care of with Dr. Smidt. She is very proactive in my care and willing to talk about any direction to take it. I appreciate her openness and approach to medicine. She will go down into the details to help you and find answers.

I had never gone to an OBGYN before & didn’t know what to expect but when I got there, the staff was friendly & Dr. Smidt was informative, helpful, and really put me at ease. She listened well & answered all the questions I had.

I felt that she did not listen to what I wanted and spoke to me in a very condescending tone. I did not care for her bedside manner during my pelvic exam. She was also very pushy about wanting me to use an IUD or arm implant as a form of contraceptive, when I told her multiple times I only wanted to stick with oral contraceptive. I have been using the same one for years and wanted to stick to what my body was used to.
