Misdiagnosis for Newborn
Nine years ago Dr Giles misdiagnosed our newborn granddaughter with a paralyzed vocal cord, treated her with steroids and wanted to perform a tracheotomy to help her breathe. This week she will be turning 9 years old thanks to Dr White at MUSC in Charleston. She was transferred from the NICU in Columbia to MUSC in Charleston. That amazing day nine years ago as Dr White listened to her breathing said that does not sound like a paralyzed vocal cord to me, that afternoon he surgically removed a cyst that was blocking 95% of her airway. She was a new baby, she could breathe! We have our granddaughter today because of Dr White.Recently I was referred to Centar Medical…when I realized this was Dr Giles practice I immediately cancelled this appointment.

Dr. Giles is great!
After some time, my son has been complaining of Tinnitus and ear pressure. His pediatrician tried some irrigation for impacted ear wax. That worked for about a month and the pressure returned. We were referred to Centra ENT's at Richland Prisma Building 9 office. Dr. Giles immediately assessed the situation, did a detailed extraction of the impaction and suggested a continual care regimen for my son. As a previous Pharma Rep, I can tell you that Dr. Giles is personable, knowledgeable and compassionate in his Dx and Tx of my son. After the visit, my son said the ringing and the pressure were gone and he is ecstatic about the visit/outcome. Dr. Giles is also very humorous and we discussed sports and our common denominator regarding his early education years at BC High School and my wife and brother-in-law's attendance at Airport HS at the same time. I was very pleased with the entire visit and the audiologist screening. They were all a friendly, professional and made us welcome

My visit wasn’t recent. But I wanted to leave a review about Dr.Giles because I think he changed my life. When I was little about 5 I think (I’m 28 now) my mother took me to him for a second opinion about a birthmark on my face. The previous doctor said that she should wait until I was 18 to even consider doing anything and Dr.Giles recommended removing it. I had multiple surgeries with him all the way into high school to remove a large birthmark on my face. Now all I am left with is a small scar that follows my cheekbone. I am just so thankful that he was willing to help me because other wise I would have been so self conscious about my looks my whole life. What a blessing he was to me. I’d recommend him a million times over.

Dr. Giles examined my ears due to poor blood flow resulting from many heavy radiation treatments on my head and neck for melanoma. Dr. Giles has previously conducted surgery on my right ear and removed portions of ear tissue that would not heal. I have great confidence and trust in Dr. Giles and remain VERY grateful that he is my doctor.

Dr. Giles is always informative, concerned with the needs of his patients, and maintains both a friendly and professional attitude toward his patients. My son had a serious sinus infection which Dr. Giles helped correct with surgery and clinical follow-up visits.

This is the rudest doctor that I’ve ever been in contact with in my 52 years! Rude doesn’t even come close to how he acted in his office today! I do not recommend him to anyone and will never go to this office again!
