When I first started seeing Dr. Sowers, he was amazing. He cared and listened to me about the multitude of issues I was facing. However, over the past few years, he's dropped off a lot. I just don't get the feeling he cares about me as a patient anymore - he often forgets to refill prescriptions and refuses to order tests/referrals I need until I call again and remind his office. Instead of sitting down with me and trying to help me puzzle out my chronic issues, he just tosses medicine at me without a care as to how it might interact. In fact, I was told to let the pharmacist handle it. No follow up as to how the medication is working or how I'm feeling. His new staff is a bit rude, too. Disappointing in so many ways, given how much I love the office and have really valued having him as a doctor.

Dr. Sowers is a wonderful physician, respectful of patients. He genuinely cares about our health and he always answers my questions. He is busy (blame the American Health Network hierarchy for that, not Dr. Sowers). He is kind and always defers to my "conservative" approach to healthcare (I'm not much of a pill taker--I'd rather try diet and lifestyle first). If only AHN management would let him spend more time with patients, but they probably want to maximize profits.

Dr. Sowers always been great to me. He spends as much time as necessary. He does not make me feel like he's in a rush and uses both modern medicine with a bit of common sense and holistic approach too. He seems like a genuinely good person who cares. A lot of these doc's anymore don't convey that. You're just a paycheck to them and treat you like an inconvenience. Dr. Sowers has never treated me that way.
