Really cares about his patients
I was referred to Dr. Schwartz as a specialist in Gynecologic Oncology after my diagnosis with the BRCA1 gene, high cancer risk. Obviously hearing that your chances of developing ovarian and breast cancer are high can be a very scary moment. Dr. Schwartz really took the time to explain everything he could about the BRCA1 diagnosis, treatment and prevention options, risks and side effects of options, and suggested next steps based on my unique situation. I really felt like he took his time to answer each of my questions thoroughly and I never felt rushed or pressured to make any decisions. I followed up with him weeks later when I was ready for a decision. When I explained to him some concerns about timing, he worked with me to schedule the surgery when I could ensure I had ample time for recovery. I went into the surgery feeling really well informed and ready for the next steps. Surgery went well with no complications and he was excellent at my follow-up visit. I'm so grateful to him!
