Dr. Katherine Applegate, PHD

If I could give less than one star, I would. However, since I must give at least one star — here we are. I seen “Dr.” Applegate for a telehealth visit regarding a pre-operative psychological evaluation for a spinal cord stimulator. It is clearly documented on my medical record that I use cannabis for pain management. The question of “drug use” was also asked very early on in the call in which I answered truthfully that I do use cannabis and only cannabis for pain management. Fast forward to one hour later, I was informed then that I was disqualified from the procedure for my cannabis use. Instead of immediately letting me know based off of my medical record or the question answered within the first 10 minutes, she decided to string me along for an hour. I mean, what’s an hour when I waited three months for this appointment, right? Upon me asking questions following my disqualification... she became arrogant, rude, and condescending. Not even a real doctor anyways.

She pays attention to what you got to say and gives an honest synopsis at the end of your appointment and she offers great insight in the encouragement in your treatment plan

Less than one star. I expected more from a duke psychologist and from a psychologist in general. Rude, condescending, arrogant, and narcissistic. Absolutely horrible. I don’t understand how she can treat people this way when they are coming to her for help. Does not return phone calls either.

Was a patient for 2 y 10m following a bus accident & horrific tx in DUKE ER Dr. Applegate completely lost her objectivity & professionalism. She was clearly unable to see my side; how I was poorly treated. Her loyalty clearly was w her employer DUKE; what I said was totally irrelevant as far as she was concerned. Following an incident where someone I employed to clean my home brought a child that destroyed many of my things again she could not empathize w my anger. I felt forced to terminate tx

Less than 1 Star, actually. Applegate was rude, arrogant, and condescending in her tone. I don't recommend her as a Provider, it would be a waste of time and money...... She was very nasty and Curt towards me!!

She did not let me finish my survey. She was arrogant. She asked quick short questions and didn't want a long answer. She was rude. She never asked about my Chronic Migraines. I wonder if she got her Phd from Wal-Mart she's so uncaring and stupid.
