My husband and I were cautious and wary of going to another therapist because my husband wasn't so keen on the couples therapy we had before. But we decided to give it another try and so happy we did. She not only listened really well, but we appreciated her practical approach, giving us tips and tools to help our relationship. We've only been working with her for a couple of months but already we find ourselves communicating better.

I almost feel like giving her one star for her ridiculously high fee, not at all competitive for the market. BUT she pretty much saved our relationship, I mean I messed up some and my wife and I had major issues, which finally we went to Dr. Patel. One of us also sees a psychiatrist and Dr. Patel called him to make sure we were all on the same page. The proof is in the pudding, because we kept going back every week, the progress we were making, I mean I never thought I’d say this, but I wish we had gone to see her years ago. I’m not a therapy kind of guy and not huge on talking about “feelings,” but Dr. Patel somehow managed to coax a curmudgeon into being a better husband. So I guess even though I was grumbling about my hard earned money spent, the every day quality of our life with each other is night and day better.

Been doing telemedicine with her for a while, and due to finances, I wanted very short term therapy and though I tried to pin her down on how many sessions I'd need, she refused to give me that, which looking back, I understand. Lucky for me, I was in and out in eight visits, which my work covered partially. I was initially on the fence about seeing her because of her fee (she's more expensive than the other therapist I checked with), but I went with my gut because when I talked to her over the phone, she not only took her time and spent as long as I needed, for free, but she actively told me that she encouraged me to reach out to other therapists so I wouldn't haveI've to pay more than I'm comfortable with, she gave me some referrals. But I decided to see her and it's been worth it; she gives assignments and structure because I asked for it, and also talked to my psychiatrist, which helped me feel like I have a team.

After putting off going to a therapist for quite some time, oddly the Covid situation incented me. I reached out to Dr. Patel through her website; she replied within the hour and set up a time to talk. I had a lot of questions and might have been more demanding than usual, I guess I was nervous and a tad defensive. But I was impressed with how she handled my inquiries, and since then I've seen her for a few months on video calls, and I've seen a huge difference with my issue, which for privacy, I don't want to get into detail about. But for me, what matters most is that my wife s happier about how I'm acting, and my son is so much more relaxed around me. Enough said. What's worked for me about Dr. Patel's approach is that she's very flexible and doesn't try to prove a point with me, she's creative and not cookie cutter, doesn't have some preordained mental map as my last therapist seemed to. This is something that's huge for me, which helped make me feel like she "gets"me.

My wife and I are seeing her now through video, and though I had my doubts about doing marriage therapy over video, it’s definitely helped us a lot. We bicker less, and miraculously, my wife doesn’t nag at me constantly, I’m less angry, all good stuff. Dr. Patel’s super chill and kind. The downside of seeing her is that she’s expensive, maybe more than other therapists in the area, but we went to her because my wife’s colleague recommended her. Definitely worth the money because my wife and I had gone to a therapist for pre-marital counseling many years ago and it was not great, so we never went back. But this counseling with Dr. Patel turns out to be go up on the solid things we’ve done for our marriage.

Was feeling very anxious about this pandemic and reached out to her for a telehealth appointment. We did approximately eight sessions (though I'm probably going to make more) with video, and I really was shocked at how helpful it was. I was a bit skeptical at first, because I had previously had a couple of not so great experiences with therapy. But I did get a lot out of her very practical approach.

I absolutely love Dr. Patel. Though she didn’t save my life, I feel like she did. By working with her, I made incredible and deep changes I never though possible, discovered things about myself I though I should’ve kept buried, but bringing them to the surface made me stronger. Dr. Patel (though she asked me to call her “Ranjan :-) has a way about her that’s very caring and rich, as if she can hold anything I give her of myself. Just when I think she’s soft and warm, she comes back direct and absolute, it’s hard to describe her, but what I know is my life has radically changed because of her. Not to sound stalker-ish, but in a weird way, my being in her presence every week, I have a much better sense of who I want to be. I honestly wish I was a better writer to describe what she’s like, but it’s an experience.

I tried several psychotherapists for depression, anxiety/panic attacks, and relationship/intimacy issues, sadly, could not establish a meaningful connection with the therapist. After going through Dr. Patel's website, I was impressed with the in-depth info and empathic tone of her content. Well, she is exactly like that in person -- sensitive, non-judgmental, astute listener, very action-oriented (homework!). For the first time, I can feel a fundamental positive shift in my life -- Thank You!

My husband and I were struggling with in laws and our children. Dr. Patel did couples and family therapy and even though it too longer than we wanted (about 4 months), it was worth it, cuz we have a lot of tools to talk about when we get upset. She was also flexible with her style and made a adjustments.
