Biography: Dr. Beth Rabinovitzobtained her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology: Neuropsychology from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York. She completed her clinical internship and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System within the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry. He completed his internship at Hillside Hospital-Long Island Jewish Medical Center and has been working at the Weill Cornell Medicine Institute for Geriatric Psychiatry since 1997. Dr. Kiosses is a NY State licensed psychologist and has been trained in Cognitive Therapy at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research. He is certified in Problem Solving Therapy and Supportive Psychotherapy.Dr. Kiosses' research focuses on the development of psychosocial interventions for middle-aged and older adults with depression, suicidal ideation, chronic pain or cognitive impairment. He has developed psychosocial interventions for vulnerable patients, including patients who have been hospitalized for suicidal ideation or suicide attempt, patients with major depression and cognitive impairment, patients with negative emotions and chronic pain, and patients who have been discharged afterECT treatment.His researchhas beensupported by grants from the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute on Aging, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Brain and Research Foundation, and Alzheimer's Association.Dr. Kiosses has developed Problem Adaptation Therapy (PATH), an emotion regulation psychosocial intervention for older adults with depression and cognitive impairment, which aims to reduce depression and disability in this population. PATH focuses on improving the functioning of older adults with cognitive deficits in their actual environment. PATH therapists use environmental adaptation tools (i.e. signs, calendar, notes) to help older adults with cognitive deficits bypass their functional and cognitive limitation and incorporate caregiver or family member involvement, if necessary. Biography: Dr. Melissa Klein has been working in the Eating Disorder Department at Weill Cornell Medicine since 1995. Due to Dr. Klein's involvement in several multi-site treatment studies for anorexia and bulimia, she has had exceptional training to do evidenced-based treatment by the leaders in the field Dr. Klein has been trained to do CBT for eating disorders and Family Based treatment for adolescents with eating disorders. She has helped to develop group treatment on the Eating Disorder Inpatient unit and consults with inpatient staff regarding patient care. Biography: Dr. Kernberg is Past-President of the International Psychoanalytic Association. He is also Training and Supervising Analyst of the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. In the past, Dr. Kernberg served as Director of the C.F. Menninger Memorial Hospital, Supervising and Training Analyst of the Topeka Institute for Psychoanalysis, and Director of the Psychotherapy Research Project of the Menninger Foundation. Later, he was Director of the General Clinical Service of the New York State Psychiatric Institute, and Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. From 1976 to 1995 he was Associate Chairman and Medical Director of The New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center, Westchester Division. Dr. Kernberg was the Book Editor of the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association from 1977-1993. He has received numerous awards for his excellence in Psychiatry (see "Awards" section.) Biography: Emily Hyun, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and Assistant Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Hyun received her medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine. She continued at Yale for her general psychiatry residency and served as Chief Resident of the adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit in her final year. She then completed child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia/Cornell combined program. Areas of additional focus during her training included college student mental health, eating disorders, and early psychosis. In her faculty practice, she accepts child, adolescent, and adult patients for diagnostic evaluation, medication management, and/or psychotherapy. She aims to partner with patients and families to provide care that is individualized, holistic, evidence-based, and developmentally-informed.
