Biography: Charles F. Dendy, DO, FACOS, received his Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center's Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. He completed his general surgery internship at Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas and general surgery residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan.Dr. Dendy is board certified in surgery and is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, The American Osteopathic Association and The American Medical Association.Charlie F. Dendy, DO, has special interest in minimally invasive surgery. Minimally invasive surgery, sometimes called laparoscopic surgery, is done through small incisions. Biography: Kenneth Helmer, MD, FACS, received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas and attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He completed his general surgery internship and residency in general surgery, along with his Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston.Kenneth Helmer, MD, is a specialist in trauma surgery with a sub-specialty in surgical critical care.Dr. Helmer is board certified by the American Board of Surgery-Surgical Critical Care.

Biography: Ronak Patel, D.O. is a native Texan. He attended the University of Texas at Austin graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Economics. He went on to attend Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth Texas in which he graduated with honors. He was in the top 5 in his class and obtained the President's Scholar award, given to students who maintained Dean's list throughout every semester in college.Dr. Patel completed his surgical training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical Center. There he received extensive General Surgery and Trauma training at the Busiest Level 1 Trauma Center in the U.S. by physicians such as Dr. James "Red" Duke and Dr. John B Holcomb. He then went on to the University of South Florida for fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy and Bariatric Surgery. Training was extensive in Laparoscopic Foregut surgery including but not limited to Nissen Fundoplication, Distal Pancreatectomy, Splenectomy, Bowel resection, Colon surgery and Bariatric surgery with an emphasis on revisional surgeries. Biography: Dr. Robert Stephen Ellis graduated from the Temple University School of Medicine in 1996. During his residency, he conducted research at the Chanin Cancer Institute of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as a Charles E. Culpepper Research Fellow. The trauma program at the University of Miami was regarded as the most comprehensive trauma training program in the country. While completing this fellowship, Dr. Ellis was highly recruited by some of the premier academic trauma programs in the country. In May of 2005, Dr. Ellis arrived at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas where he has helped to create a model Acute Care Program that seamlessly integrates Trauma Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, Emergency General Surgery and the care of devastating wounds. In 2015, CareChex named Mother Frances the number one in Texas for Excellence in Trauma care. During his tenure in Tyler, Dr. Ellis has distinguished himself as a conscientious, thoughtful and skilled practitioner. He is highly regarded by his peers as one of the preeminent surgeons at Mother Frances hospital, which has 160 surgeons on staff and where over 20,000 operative cases are conducted annually.
