Care Philosophy: The Cardiac Surgery Program at MountainView Hospital is focused on maximizing continuity of care by providing an individualized, unique patient experience. As a primary care physician, you know your patients better than anyone else. Therefore, it is our mission to involve you in their inpatient care at every step along the way. From the Operating Room to the dedicated Cardiac ICU and Progressive Care Unit (PCU), our cardiac nurses are specially trained and have successfully completed a rigorous course that includes several proctored cases. In addition, we offer increased staffing in both the Cardiac ICU and PCU.

Biography: Dr. Nelly Chow is a cardiothoracic surgeon with MountainView Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Associates. Serving patients throughout Las Vegas and its surrounding communities, she provides care and surgical treatment of adults, focusing on the lungs, chest, and heart. Dr. Chow performs surgery, including minimally-invasive, robotic-assisted surgery at MountainView Hospital which has been named among the Top 100 hospitals in America, according to Healthgrades. Dr. Chow is board-certified in general surgery and completed her fellowship training in thoracic surgery at the University of Miami and her surgical residency at MountainView Hospital. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, and a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Chow has been recognized with many honors, including the Dr. Peter Vajtai Award of Excellence in Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2017. She also received the Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement by the American Medical Women's Association, presented to women in the top 10% of their graduating medical school class. Her professional memberships include the American College of Surgeons, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery.
