Care Philosophy: Dr. Visco cares for patients with sports and musculoskeletal injuries, specializes in the application of diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound, preventative and regenerative musculoskeletal care, and medical education. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Sports Medicine, and is a registered musculoskeletal sonographer.

Bottiglieri, DO, is a specialist in the non-operative management of complex medical conditions affecting athletic participation, including chronic and acute injuries affecting the bones, joints, and muscles of pediatric and adult patients. In addition, he is an expert in the field of concussion care and management, and focuses on a patient-centered approach to patient care that stresses shared decision making with his patients and their families.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Sardar believes in non-operative treatment of most spinal disorders. However, when surgery is required he will individualize the treatment to each patient, offering the option that is most likely to result in a good outcome.

Biography: Christine Townsend, MD is an Assistant Professor at Columbia University Medical Center's Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine. She specializes in seeing patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, and sports and dance-related injuries. Dr. Townsend is a former dancer who spent 6 years performing professionally and teaching dance prior to earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry at the University of Missouri Kansas City. She received her MD from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York-Presbyterian Columbia and Cornell. She then went on to complete a sports medicine fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Townsend has a first-hand understanding of the importance for athletes, including performing artists, to be functioning physically at the highest level possible. When injuries do happen, she addresses them with a holistic approach. She believes in an integrated, multi-disciplinary, individualized plan of care for every patient. Biography: Elan L. Goldwaser, DO, is a sports medicine physician specializing in the non-operative management of complex musculoskeletal conditions affecting athletic participation, including chronic and acute injuries affecting the bones, joints, and muscles of pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Goldwaser's training as an osteopathic physician provides additional treatment approaches to promote healing through a variety of options and tailored patient care. As an experienced team physician to high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, Dr. Goldwaser is accustomed to treating injuries sustained in the acute setting of sporting events including: management of concussions, tendon injuries, and leg somatic dysfunctions (including Achilles/Patellar tendonitis). As a former cross-country, track and field, and swimming collegiate athlete, Dr. Goldwaser understands the athlete's need to return to sport and is dedicated to helping people of all levels achieve this. He attended The College of New Jersey where he completed his Bachelor's in Biology, and later went on to Rowan-SOM for medical school and residency. Before coming to Columbia Orthopedics, Dr. Goldwaser completed a sports medicine fellowship at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA, honing skills in ultrasound diagnostics and minimally invasive sports medicine interventional procedures. Dr. Goldwaser's research spans multiple specialties which include: concussion management, prevention and recovery, biologic injections in injury recovery, and exploring healing rates after ultrasound-guided procedural interventions. When time allows, he enjoys running marathons, traveling, and playing Scrabble with his family.
