Care Philosophy: My care philosophy is also not static. I modify my treatment recommendations based on patient's age, existing medical conditions, cancer stage and specific molecular features, and of course the patient's preferences. While I make strong recommendations in certain conditions, I prefer to make shared decision with my patients in challenging cases. Therefore I listen to them carefully and try to make them comfortable in their plan of care in the end. I give them the opportunity to ask and learn about their condition and how we are going to deal with it. I put an emphasis on their understanding of their disease status, prognosis, treatment options, and how treatment works. I encourage them to fight their cancer, but I don't give them a false hope. I believe in miracles but I am also realistic. My role as their doctor is to provide the best available care and take them to wherever they want to go.
