Biography: Dr. Darwin Chen is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital, in the Leni and Peter W. May Department of Orthopaedics. He specializes in joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee as well as hip preservation. Dr. Chen received his undergraduate degree with honors from Stanford University. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. At Mount Sinai, he was selected as the administrative chief resident during his final year of residency, an honor bestowed by his mentors and peers. In addition, he received the prestigious Dr. Robert Sieffert Award three times during residency for his outstanding academic achievements and clinical excellence. Dr. Chen completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction/joint replacement at Rush University Medical Center, widely regarded as one of the top adult reconstruction fellowships in the country. At Rush, he trained with the pioneers and leaders of the field, including Drs. Wayne Paprosky, Aaron Rosenberg, Joshua Jacobs, Richard Berger, Craig Della Valle, and Scott Sporer. During his fellowship, Dr. Chen gained extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery as well as complex and revision arthroplasty. Following Rush, Dr. Chen completed further subspecialty training in hip preservation surgery as a part of a unique traveling hip fellowship at top centers in the US and Europe. Christian, MD, MBA, is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in the operative and non-operative treatment of athletes of all ages and skill levels, including pediatric and adult patients. He is an expert in arthroscopic and open surgery of the hip and knee. Dr. Christian is interested in arthroscopic hip preservation, focusing on femoroacetabular impingement, labral tears, proximal hamstring injuries, and complex knee pathologies, focusing on cartilage restoration, meniscus injuries, and ligament reconstruction. He also serves as Head team Physician at Iona University. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr. Christian received a B.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2015. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University, where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Brian J. Hartigan, MD, Memorial Award. While in residency, Dr. Christian graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master's in Business Administration from the Booth School of Business. Following residency, Dr. Christian completed fellowships in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Hip Preservation at Duke University in Durham, NC. While there, he served as a team physician for Duke University basketball, football, and baseball teams. Throughout his training, Dr. Christian has been active in academic research, having published over 20 peer-reviewed articles on various topics related to hip arthroscopy, femoroacetabular impingement, quality improvement, value-based healthcare, and surgical techniques. His ongoing research projects focus on optimizing patient outcomes with a particular interest in complex hip and knee pathology. Dr. Christian also has a significant interest in resident and fellow education and mentorship. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). Outside of his practice, Dr. Christian enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and personal fitness.

Biography: Dr. Robert J. Strauch is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow problems in adults and children. He has a special interest in nerve problems of the upper extremity, including carpal tunnel syndrome, and in treating congenital hand disorders. The specialty of hand surgery melds together elements and principles of orthopedic, plastic, neurological and vascular surgery to restore and maximize hand and upper extremity function, whether wielding a jackhammer, throwing a baseball, or playing the violin. Dr. Strauch has authored and co-authored numerous articles in the field of hand surgery and is actively engaged in basic and clinical research.
