Care Philosophy: I believe in listening to my patient. I acknowledge that they patient know their body better than anyone. Every patient is seeking and needs or wants something different, and needs or wants that in a way that fits with their view of their health. Together, the patient and I collaborate to form the working relationship: Is the patient more knowledgeable and self-directed? Or would they prefer I take the lead in outlining a care plan? Motivational interviewing for positive health behavior maintenance or change is my main approach to care.

Biography: Jerry was born in Ogden, Utah. He finished his premedical education at Weber State College. He attended medical school at the University of Utah, graduating in 1977, and completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. In 1980 he joined Dr. Jordan Klein (our now retired founding doctor) in practice at Partners in Pediatrics. He is married and has three married children and two grandchildren. He enjoys sports (especially triathlons), wood-working and gardening. His areas of special interest are integrated medicine and behavior management.

Care Philosophy: Our practice's philosophy is "Take great care of the patient." I am so fortunate in my career that I have the honor of taking care of two (or more!) patients - mother and baby. Every day, I help families make important decisions. Sometimes, these decisions will affect them for the rest of their lives, and I cannot emphasize enough how seriously I take this responsibility. It is my job to listen to families to learn their goals and values, and put that together with I have learned in my training and practice to come up with a plan of care that everyone is comfortable with. Whether it be a mom with a complicated medical history or a concern about the baby, I make sure to communicate clearly with my patients and ensure all of their questions are answered, and then make sure to support them through whatever may come next. My partners and our office staff are amazing and together we aim to provide the best high-risk obstetric care in Colorado.
