After receiving his Doctorate of Medicine with honors from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dr. Alderazi moved to the USA to complete residency in Neurology at the Barrow Neurological Institute where he also served as chief resident. He then completed fellowships in Vascular Neurology at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Neurocritical care at the University of Miami and Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology at Rutgers University.Dr. Alderazi has established and directed several Neurointerventional programs, Neurocritical care units and Comprehensive Stroke Centers including at Texas Tech University Health Sciences in Lubbock and the University of Texas at Houston. He is committed to expanding access to the highest level and quality of neurointerventional therapy for patients with cerebrovascular disease. He performed his surgical training at Indiana University Medical Center before completing his anesthesia residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Additional specialty fellowships in spine care and pain management were completed at Texas Tech University Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with additional subspecialty certification in Pain Management, and is board certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine.After training with leading international neurosurgeons, orthopedists and neurologists, he became a clinical professor at Baylor College of Medicine. While there, he established and was the director of the Interventional Spine Care Fellowship Program. In addition to current clinical duties, he continues to teach in the combined Baylor and University of Texas Spinal Surgery Fellowship Program.
