He was a 1990 National Merit Finalist. Dr. Mayfield was a member of the Carl G. Evers Society at the University of Mississippi where he established a Student/Faculty Mentor Program, and worked on a Professor Awards Banquet, Course Evaluation Protocols, and organized Primary Care Day for Medical Students. He has been a member of the Pharmacology Liaison Committee, the American Medical Association, and the Christian Medical/Dental Association Surgery Committee at The University of South Alabama. This allows me to determine if lifestyle modifications are necessary to help with their orthopaedic problems.
