Biography: Christy Babis is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Saint Louis University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing at Texas Tech University.Originally from Connecticut, Christy moved to Austin in 2019. She previously worked as an ICU nurse in St. Louis, San Diego, and Denver before finding her home in the cardiovascular intensive care unit at the Heart Hospital of Austin. Christy has cardiovascular surgery and medicine experience as a member of the Mechanical Circulatory Support team where she specialized in advanced cardiovascular interventions including Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and advanced heart failure devices. Christy is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In her free time, she enjoys being active outdoors trail running, biking, rock climbing, skiing, and playing pickleball. Biography: This physician is accepting telehealth visits. Dr. David Revere is originally from Long Island, New York. He graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.S. degree in Biology and went on the University of Connecticut School of Medicine to obtain his medical degree. He received his B.A. in Molecular Biochemistry from Yale University in 1985, and earned his M.D. with High Honors from Baylor College of Medicine in 1989. Biography: Dr. John Moscona is from New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a board-certified Cardiologist and Internist who joins Austin Heart as an Interventional Cardiologist, treating patients with cardiovascular diseases through catheter-based procedures. Dr. Moscona completed his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience magna cum laude from Tulane University in 2004. In 2010, he earned his Medical Degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Tulane and was selected Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. After residency, Dr. Moscona worked as a Hospitalist and Associate Medical Director in Denver at Rose Medical Center and then in New Orleans as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine residency at Tulane. Dr. Moscona then furthered his medical training, completing Cardiology fellowship in 2019 at Tulane and Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2020. Dr. Moscona is also certified in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular imaging. Additionally, Dr. Moscona has authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on coronary physiology, coronary calcification, valvular heart disease, and cardiovascular public health and disaster medicine. In 2017, he was recognized for Best Oral Presentation by the Louisiana Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and was chosen as Cardiology Fellow of the Year at Tulane University in 2019. Dr. Moscona was recently elected to Fellowship in the American College of Cardiology and has affiliations with the American Heart Association and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Moscona has a special interest in complex coronary interventions including management of chronic total occlusions and the use of atherectomy devices. He is also trained in peripheral vascular and structural heart interventions. He enjoys spending time with his wife while trying to manage their two little boys. He also loves to cook and plays guitar.
