Biography: Dr. Rajeev Joshi joined North Texas Heart Center in August 2013. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowships in Cardiovascular Diseases and Advanced Cardiac Imaging at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital in New York as part of the Columbia University System. His Advanced Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology training was completed at the University of California in San Diego. Dr. Joshi is proficient in all aspects of Electrophysiology including atrial fibrillation ablation, atrial flutter and PSVT ablation, and ventricular tachycardia ablation. Biography: Zalmen Blanck, MD, FHRS is board certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Disease. He practices with Methodist Physiciand RiverCity CardioVascular.Dr. Blanck graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico School of Medicine in Mexico City. He completed his residency and electrophysiology fellowship at University of Wisconsin Mount Sinai/Sinai Samaritan Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Between 1993 and 2014, Dr. Blanck worked with Aurora Cardiovascular Services/Aurora Medical Group in Milwaukee. He also served at the University of Milwaukee Medical School, Milwaukee Clinical Campus, until 2000 when he became a clinical Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health at Aurora Sinai and Aurora St. Luke's Medical Centers. From 2008 to 2014, Dr. Blanck served as director of Electrophysiology Services at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. He is currently a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society.His professional interests include the use of catheter ablation techniques and devices to treat cardiac arrhythmias. Biography: Dr. Justin Taylor Saunders earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his internship, residency, and served as chief resident in internal medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, Texas. Biography: Dr. Khaled Awad is a board certified cardiac electrophysiologist. Dr. Awad joins TCA as one of the nation's busiest and highly experienced physicians in the field of cardiac ablations. He offers extensive repertoire in complex interventions aimed at correcting heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Awad received his medical degree from the University of Mansoura, College of Medicine in Egypt. Dr. Awad pursued his graduate medical education in the United States. Dr. Bassiouny came to the United States to complete his Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. This led to a decade of additional training and research within the Cleveland Clinic which included a second residency, a cardiovascular fellowship, and an additional year of electrophysiology fellowship.Dr. Bassiouny's research interests include atrial fibrillation and cardiac pacing and resynchronization. He has led several studies examining the optimal anticoagulation and ablation strategies for patients undergoing atrial fibrillation ablation. He has published many articles in scientific journals, several of which were cited in the American and European guidelines for atrial fibrillation ablation and cardiac resynchronization. Additionally, Dr. Bassiouny has co-authored several book chapters on the ablation of atypical accessory pathways."As a Physician, I have a responsibility to my patients as well as to the field of medicine.
