He earned a medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha, a distinction reserved for those in the top 10% of medical graduates. Dr. Price found his specialty during his general surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center, where he also completed his urology and urological oncology fellowships. He was an American Foundation of Urological Disease Research Scholar at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Price finds satisfaction helping patients with genitourinary cancer and helping them recover from their surgical procedures. Called to help people with cancer at a very young age, Dr. Price provides surgical care for patients with benign and malignant diseases of the urinary system. He was an early adopter of robotic surgery and helped establish the first robotic surgery program in Shreveport in 2003. He has more than 28 years experience performing complex urologic cancer procedures and he has more than 20 years experience performing complex robotic surgical procedures. In addition to urologic cancer, Dr. Price provides treatment for general urology problems, including BPH and kidney stones. Recognizing the considerable stress caused by complex issues his patients face, Dr. Price likes guiding patients to the best healthcare decision for their situation so they can add more life to their years. Dr. Price enjoys developing long-term relationships and becoming friends with his patients, humbled when they put their life in his hands for surgery. Outside the operating room, Dr. Price enjoys spending time at his Texas farm building things from wood or metal, planting food plots for deer and gardening. He especially enjoys time with his grandsons, letting them help with farm projects that involve running heavy equipment like dozers, excavators and skid steer.
