I chose this specialty because so many patients say, "I feel like I got my life back," after having surgery; there is nothing more thrilling than hearing that. When treating hip and knee arthritis, I think it is critical to exhaust all nonoperative treatments, and then to work with each patient to decide when it's the right time for them to have surgery. After surgery, I want to help patients get through recovery and rehabilitation as quickly as possible so they can get back to the activities they enjoy.

As an orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine, I provide complete care of shoulder, hip and knee conditions. Over the past 20 years, I have cared for athletes at all levels high school, collegiate and professional. I have also spent many hours on the sidelines providing medical coverage. My favorite conditions to treat are hip arthritis using a minimally invasive direct anterior approach to hip replacement, ACL and meniscus injuries, arthritis of the knee and rotator cuff tears. My goal is to eliminate pain and restore function to allow my patients to live their lives to the fullest.
