Biography: Dr. Christopher Sutton received his medical degree from The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA, and he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at MCG as well. While in residency he had direct participation in the diagnosis, management, prevention, and treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system. He underwent an additional year of training in Orthopaedic Trauma prior to completing an Orthopaedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship at The University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. During fellowship, he trained extensively in all pathologic conditions of the upper extremity, from shoulder to fingertip. He specializes in both endoscopic and open carpal tunnel releases, computer-guided shoulder replacements, and all manner of upper extremity trauma. Prior to receiving his medical degree, Dr. Sutton did his undergraduate and premedical education at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and Penn State University in State College, PA. Dr. Sutton is a published author with several articles in the shoulder and upper extremity literature. He additionally co-authored a multi-center study evaluating rehabilitative care of extremity fractures in spinal cord patients. Ongoing areas of research interest include the use of technology to improve surgical outcomes, decrease infections, and provide improved overall care to patients. Dr. Sutton has previously volunteered with multiple organizations, including March Of Dimes, Habitat for Humanity, and multiple hospitals in the Atlanta, GA area. Dr. Sutton lives in the Charlotte area with his wife, a practicing pediatric emergency medicine physician, and children. Biography: I am a board-certified dual fellowship-trained sports medicine and hip preservation orthopedic surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the hip, shoulder and knee. \n As a hip preservationist, my focuses are arthroscopic treatment of complex hip disorders, including labral tears, femoral-acetabular impingement, focal cartilage injuries, gluteal tendon tears and proximal hamstring tears.
