Excellent surgeon!!
Had annual follow up and told him about my issues with reflux and vomiting. I had previously requested an order for an endoscopy. He advised that I most likely had another hiatal hernia which was causing my distress. We discussed a revision surgery and scheduled a virtual appointment to discuss the endoscopy results. He was spot on- I have another hernia I trust Dr. Averbach with my care and highly recommend him!!!!

Saved My Life
I had a very complicated surgical procedure that 5 other Drs said was not possible...that I would 'just have to stay that way cause no one was gonna touch me like this'. I was persistent and guess what? They were so wrong? Dr. Averbach saved my life. I'm off 90% of my pre-surgery medications and I have another chance at this beauty thing we call life

Dr. Averbach is a wonderful doctor. He performed my sleeve surgery 2 years ago. He is very professional and gave me excellent care from beginning to end. His program is set up for your success. Staff is also great and if you have a issue they quickly resolved them. Would definitely recommend him to anyone I know looking into Baritastic surgery.

He's very competent, with a great reputation, which is why I contacted him. I had silent reflux which caused constant coughing and larynx damage, and Proton Pump Inhibitors like Nextium weren't getting the job done. So a surgical procedure called a Fundoplication was needed. Not fun, but necessary. Dr. Averbach did the procedure laparoscopically. Everything went as planned, and I'm back at work and into the swing of things. No pain or other unpleasant side-effects. I'm happy!

I did not feel at ease with Dr. Averbach. He seemed to just be going through the motions and didn't seem to care about me personally. Also, he reeked of smoke (cigarette - cigar?).
