Excellent knowledge in his field. Ask questions!! He reports his findings to an assistant who enters it into a computer, using medical terminology you might not understand. So ASK what he found before you leave office. Technicians do every procedure except looking into the back of the eye (history, glaucoma check, visual acuity).

Dr. Perry has been my Ophthalmologist for 7+ years. He is excellent! He is thorough and easy to talk to. He answers every question I ask and I trust him completely. He has performed cataract surgery on both my eyes and the care and difference is amazing. I also had what I was told was an abnormality in my cornea and he eliminated my concerns completely after examination. I would not trust my eyes to anyone else. He and his staff are friendly and excellent.

I had cataract surgery on my R eye with Dr. Perry a week ago and it has exceeded all my expectations. Dr. Perry explained the proposed treatment and the outcome that I could expect, but I was not prepared for how dramatically my vision was improved. I plan to have the cataract in my left eye removed on July 24 and I am looking forward to the life changing vision that this surgery has given me. I recommend Dr. Perry very highly for his expertise and his care.

Since 2nd grade, I was dependent on glasses & contact lenses due to nearsightedness & astigmatism. In 1989, I attended Dr. Perry's seminar for corrective surgery & elected to have the procedure. The results were amazing & my vision was restored to normal. Being able to see clearly is something I never take for granted. Through the years, I have continued to be Dr. Perry's patient & truly appreciate his medical expertise.

I chose Dr. Perry to perform LASIK surgery on my eyes and it’s the best decision I have ever made. I wanted to have the procedure for a very long time, but was nervous and afraid. After asking around and being told that he was the best in the business, I decided to take a chance and I am very happy that I did. He did an excellent job and was extremely patient and comforting during the entire process (and, trust me, I can be very difficult to comfort). You can’t go wrong with him. He’s the best!

Myself and my entire family have been seeing Dr. Perry for years. From routine eye exams to LASIK to cataract surgery, he has done it all for my family! Excellent care, excellent outcomes and an awesome staff. Even willing to see my mother for a same day appointment when she was having a problem with her eye.

My entire family has been seeing Dr. Perry for years. I personally have been seeing him for 10+ years. He perform LASIK on my husband and I both. He is an incredible doctor. He is always professional, direct and knowledgeable of the latest procedures. His staff is always friendly and very efficient. They perform all the pre-exam procedures and when he comes into the room, he is already aware of any issues. I highly recommend Dr. Perry for anyone considering LASIK.

This doctor ruined my eyes with laser surgery telling me I was a good candidate which I was not as later told to me by a Duke optomologist and there is no fix. Avoid this doctor!

When my doctor retired I saw Dr. Dwight D. Perry for the first time. Without any preface Dr. Perry stunned me when he said I needed cataract surgery. I started to ask how my vision could have changed in one year, Dr. Perry said, "Don't interrupt me." He continued with a rapid monologue and when I tried to ask a question again, he repeated, "Don't interrupt me." My attempt to ask a question was in a polite manner but Dr. Perry didn't want a word from a patient.

Biggest mistake I ever made was to trust this guy with my surgery, he truly doesn't care about the well being of his patients. The surgery was a disaster and I am still dealing with the consequences of his actions, unfortunately there is no recourse against him because of the documents you sign before surgery and the damage he did to my eye is too small for a lawsuit.
He was late at every single appointment except for the initial consultation when he was selling me on the LASIK idea.

My friend recommended me to Dr. Perry. He did a great job on her eye surgery and mine. I would highly recommend him. I found out that he was the first doctor doing laser eye surgery in Durham...even before Duke. Go with someone who has lots of experience like him!

I have had serious complications following cataract surgery that Dr. Perry performed. He has not been able to communicate clearly about my condition. He does not appear to be empathetic.

Was very casual with my diagnosis. I had to press him to answer questions. After saying that my right eye was worse then my left he proceeded to recommend laser on my left eye. I have lost all confidence in him.
