Dr. Erin Dawson-Chalat, MD

Dr Dawson is amazing. You never feel rushed, she gets to know you, she’s calm and compassionate. As a nurse I know a good from bad doctor. I trust dr Dawson with not only my life but all three of my children, especially throughout my pregnancies. She came to visit my children multiple times in the hospital. She is one of the best doctors I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with/ that care for me. My husband also respects her and says she explains things very well for those who aren’t “medically literate”.

I saw Dr. Dawson for the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy until I unfortunately moved. She is incredibly compassionate and always welcomes questions. Your first pregnancy (especially during a pandemic) can be stressful, but she was always happy to explain things to help ease qualms. Very grateful to have had her for my doctor for awhile and can’t recommend her and Coastal women’s enough.

Dr. Dawson delivered my first baby and was also my OB for 3 years before I moved to New York. She never rushed our appointments, explained everything thoroughly, and took time to get to know my family. I had a traumatic birth and she was more than helpful during my appointments afterwards. She offered to consult me through the decisions we made and to go through her notes with me so I could understand everything. The office has great services and I wish I could find something similar here in New York. Highly recommended!

Dr. Dawson takes the time to review and really understand your symptoms. When you have a concern, she takes it seriously and works with you to resolve it. She helped me resolve a long term problem no one else would deal with.

The schedulers and office people people are rude and unhelpful. Doctor Dawson cancels appointments often,in the same day of the appointment. If that happens, they do not apologize and they schedule you for whatever they have next (even if the appt day does not work for you or you have your period). It is not a good place for busy moms or professionals to get treatment because they are unreliable. The doctor is OK, but nothing you could not get someplace else. I gave up. Moving on to better care!
