Dr. John Esposito, MD

I slipped and fell on ice so I had to have surgery on my leg to fix my fractured and displaced tibia and fibula. I was very scared before the surgery because it was my first surgery ever but Dr. Esposito was so kind and walked me through the whole procedure and was very honest and straight to the point with me. He’s a very nice and thoughtful surgeon and I really appreciate him for taking the time to talk to me about the procedure and afterwards too and even answered all of the questions I had.

Dr. Esposito is outstanding! His surgical skills are amazing and his care and concern for my recoveries went above and beyond. He is a very busy surgeon and sometimes may appear to dismissive but there are ways to encourage him to be more patient and listen to his patients. He performed my hip replacement due to necrosis after pelvic radiation as well as a total knee replacement with a complicated recovery. He and his entire staff were patient, attentive and compassionate. I recommend him hands down!!!!

Dr. Esposito is excellent! I met him in the ER after a traumatic fall = broken hip. His confidence and kindness put me at ease. I am now 6 months post op and have made a remarkable recovery. I recommend Dr. Esposito 100%! He is my hero and that's what I call him!

He never listened to me, he never explained anything about my X-Rays, he just stands In the door way and then say’s “I’ll see you in three weeks” And he hasn’t prescribed any medicine for me.

He popped in for less than a minute the night before my surgery. Told me he had one "case" not "patient" before me in the a.m. Follow-up visits were cursory. Stereotypical "surgeon's personality." My fractured femur is healing at a faster than anticipated pace, which speaks to the caliber of his surgical skills.

When I was diagnosed with early stage arthritis in both hips in 2007, I was shocked because I was fairly young and trauma-free. The doctor who diagnosed me recommended double hip replacement surgery. I declined and carried on working out and enjoying my sports til it got worse and in 2016 I went for a 2nd consultation. This former NE Baptist surgeon, recommended an immediate rt hip replacement and provided a long list of restrictions on my activities, forever. It sounded like a one-size-fits-all approach and not the future I wanted! I just knew there had to be a better technology; a customized approach to hip replacement surgery and through a friend of a friend I was referred in 2021 to Dr John Esposito at MGH who uses leading edge technology. I knew as soon as I met me that he had it all: the expertise, passion, commitment, staff and facility. I had robot-assisted surgery 6 weeks later with amazing results! I'm so happy!! I've been given my life back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Grateful.

I had a serious hip fracture. Dr. Esposito repaired expertly and I am walking again. I would highly recomment.

I have been seeing Dr. Esposito since August of 2019 for a rare failure of my left and right hip prostheses. He took immediate interest in my case,scheduled the appropriate tests and scheduled surgery, The first was scheduled but delayed due to Covid19. Right hip was done Sept 2020 and the left will be done soon. He is an excellent, skilled surgeon.

I had a very good experience with Dr Esposito. He was candid and honest and told me that my hip needed a replacement. It was not what I wanted to hear but I knew that if he said that was what I needed, that I was in competent care and he would do a good job. He was very cautious with my post surgery care and I felt that he answered my questions in regard to my recovery. He is busy and doesn’t always spend a lot of time talking but if there was anything I needed, I felt he was there for me. I would recommend him for orthopedic surgery.

I recently had Dr. Esposito as my surgeon for a Trimalleolar fracture he did such a wonderful job! I'm pretty neurotic and knowing I had such an esteemed surgeon working on my ankle made me feel at ease leading up to the surgery and after that everything was taken care of. You should feel lucky if he's doing your surgery. He did an incredible job answering my questions before and after the surgery.

DR Esposito did a Total Knee Replacement and I could not be more happy. Prior to my operation he was available and took the time to answer all of my questions. The procedure was smooth and professional despite the fact that my knee was in very bad shape from a 45 year old injury. My recovery was rapid and I was back at work in less than 3 weeks. Throughout the recovery Dr Esposito was available and helpful. If you are looking for an orthopedic surgeon you cannot go wrong with Dr Esposito

I would not recommend this doctor all. He is arrogant and does not think about the patient as a whole. He is also the most negative person ever. He never once said anything positive. First, I was going to get an infection because I am overweight--lost 20 lbs to prepare for surgery. Nothing was said, first thing out of his mouth in recovery room was that I was a high risk for dislocation due to my wide big hips--however no hip precautions were given to nursing staff. Returned in two weeks, he doles out pain relief meds-only one week at a time. Ok, given opioid addiction stats. But, but, asked him for refill for 3 week . He told me I was going down the wrong path, that I was addicted. Really? only after 2 weeks?? I am not able to sleep at night due to pain. No sleep= no healing. I am only taking it responsibly maybe 15 mg of oxycodone a day.. He told me that I am not having a good recovery--negativity once again, only after two weeks. Just what a person wants to hear after surgery. AVOID

Dr Espoito was excellent doctor. Very knowledgeable and expert at what he does. He fixed my fractured without any complications at all. Very skillful at his trade

Arrogant doctor. Failed to explain in simple terms & was condescending. Won't recommend at all.
