Dr. Joseph Werther, MD

I would not recommend. Joseph Werther has been the worst experience I’ve had when it comes to pediatricians. He belittled me and made several comments in regards to my experience and knowledge related to my children’s medications. Questioned my sons diagnosis, I guarantee he didn’t even bother requesting or looking through my sons medical records before even seeing us. I didn’t study medicine and I’m not a dr but one thing is for certain when it comes to my kids I try to educate myself the best way I can to make sure they are healthy, happy and educated. I’m not sure if Joseph wether always passes judgment towards his other patients parents or if his snide remarks were just directed towards me on that particular day because he wasn’t happy. Either way I don’t recommend this pediatrician to anyone EVER.

Not sure how he has any good reviews or anything over 1 star. We have taken our kids to Dr. Werther for a few years now and every time we leave we ask ourselves why we ever return. Shame on us. He is just a rude individual. He has ZERO bedside manner and has no idea how to interact with children. The only thing he has going for him is his office staff.

I have been taking my children to Dr. Wherther for over 12 years. Every visit has informative and with care. He is personable, professional and always knows what he is talking about. I wouldn’t trust or take my children to anyone else.

Dr. Werther was completely and utterly rude to myself and my husband when asking questions about our son’s croup diagnosis. When asked how we can differentiate croup in the future his response was go to medical school. Horrible bedside manner.

Dr werther is amazing! He is so good to my kids! He truly cares about them and there well being! I highly recommend him and would never take my kids anywhere else! He shows compassion towards my family and goes out of his way to make sure that my kids are happy and healthy! If I call and need something he always responds in a timely manner. He goes out of his way to make appointments for my kids if they need to be seen! I am forever grateful we found Dr Werther!

We have taken our child to Dr Werther for the last 7 years. He is a fantastic Dr. I would recommend him to all educated people. He treats you like an adult, he does go over things pretty fast but writes everything down everything important and gives you additional information to take home. He is very friendly for a Dr. (he has his dog in his office). My daughter is never afraid or hesitant to go to the Dr and that says a lot.

I have taken my son to see Dr. Werther since he was a newborn. Dr. “Joe” is so genuine and truly wants to see my son happy and healthy. If you take the time to ask questions, he will take all the time necessary to explain, and make sure that all questions are answered. I would never take my son to anyone else! He truly cares and shares his knowledge and we are very thankful to have found him!

Dr. Werther is a smart, dedicated and caring pediatrician. Ten years ago, my son was having substantial pain in his arm at his new patient visit; Dr. W diagnosed it as cellulitis, sent us to the ER, and called to follow up. My son was in the hospital for 5 days. From colds, to asthma, to broken bones, to rashes, Dr. W has been there for all my children. He even kept contact while we were in ND to follow up on the effect of ADHD medication and send prescriptions. Excellent. HIghly recommend.

I have been taking all 3 of my children to Dr. Werther for 11 years now First and only pediatrician my children ever had. when I moved 80 miles away I still continued to drive my children all the way to Mesa. Dr W is a very upfront doctor he tells it like it is which sometimes parents don't want to hear, When it comes to their child's health. Dr W has always provided excellent care for my children. And I referred him to all my friends and family who have new babies and I get great feedback!

Dr Werther is a good doctor in my opinion, and seems to be very thorough in his examinations.but he is not a very personable dr that you would expect from your pediatrician. Especially if you catch him on a bad day. As a first-time mother he seems to disregard my concerns & I feel reprimanded a lot of the times & feel stupid for asking any question. But when my husband is there he seems to be a lot more personable and respectful. Overall, if you are a new mom, I would not recommend him at all.

I would not recommend Dr. Werther to anyone. The bottom line they don't care. They are not willing to help at any level and in any matter.They say that they are always busy. Dr. Werther called me over the phone twice yelling at me when I asked him to help me to go over important forms for my kids. Very poor customer service. I already took my kids to another doctor. Please research well before considering this practice for your family.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Werther. We switched over to his office after my daughter was 4 months old from another physician who was not providing adequate care. Dr. Werther is extremely attentive, thorough in his diagnosis, and not afraid to tell it like it is. When it comes to my daughters health, I want someone who doesn't sugar coat things! He promptly returns my calls with questions and follows up with me afterwards just to check in. I would recommend him (and have) to anyone!
