Dr. Nilesh Patel, MD

I had 2 previous back surgeoes from a different orthopedic group with little relief. I was referred to Dr Patel and reluctantly agreed to a 3rd surgery due to hardware failure. I am now 4 months out from surgery and able to do things I haven't done in 6 years. I highly recommend Dr Patel, I am so pleased with my back pain relief!!

I am 43 yrs oldSevere Pain in lower left back , shooting pains down to my toes, numbness and tingling down to my toes. Procedures: Laminectomy,facetectomy,foraminotomyI saw Dr. Patel as a second option. The first Dr I saw told me I needed a full fusion, and that there was another less invasive surgery he could perform but felt it wouldnt work. When I went to see Patel I told him I was there for a second consult however I did not share the first consults opinion of my condition.Dr. Patel reviewed my MRI, noted the same thing as the first dr. Severe compression of my nerves exiting my foramen. He suggested a Laminectomy,facetectomy,foraminotomy. He was extremely confident in his ability and that this was what we needed to do. No back surgery is 100% guaranteed, he told me that, which I appreciated but felt based on his experience and my condition that we have very good chances of this working. I shared with him the fusion idea and he said and I quote “I completely disagree

He was upfront and straight forward with me. Everything went just like he explained and I experienced instant relief

Dr. Patel is an excellent surgeon. I came to him in April of 2024. I was hunched over & could barely walk up to 3 houses. I had surgery on May 3Oth. As of today, June 18th, I can walk 2 miles with little pain. This exceeded my expectations.

The entire surgical team in Dearborn was outstanding from Dr Patel to everyone involved throughout the entire surgery. Hats off to Devon also! Will tell anyone who has to go through surgery to go to Dr Patel. Thank you all for taking great care of me.

I am a young 72 year old woman. Dr Patel diagnosed and performed cervical fusions on 3 of my degenerative neck discs because I could not hardly use my right arm or hand. 11 weeks later and am a new person with hardly a trace of a surgical scar on my neck and full use of my arm and hand. Thank you to Dr Patel and his team for making me whole again. Would recommend him and his team as your first choice.

At 69 years old, I was having severe neck pain, traveling through my shoulder, down my arm and even into my hand. Dr. Patel was recommended to me by my doctor. He took X-rays and concluded that I had 3 discs in my cervical spine that were practically gone. He suggested that I have an ACDF surgery to replace the 3 discs. I had this procedure done in the summer of 2022, and the pain was relieved! Then after a few months of some restrictions and physical therapy, I was able to return to playing on my softball team in April 2023 and golfing. All thanks to Dr. Patel!

Had a L5-S1 disc herniation. Dearborn surgery center, Dr. Patel and staff are fantastic. 2 weeks out from surgery and felling better daily. Would highly recommend.

I cane into his office, a sobbing idiot that couldn't sit upright to meet him. . I had seen 4 other doctors and visited an ER. before seeing him. everyone offered me another pill. Dr Patel told me surgery. naturally I was terrified to have spinal surgery, but at this point i would have let them cut off my arm, it I thought it would help. His office put me at ease and gave me the only medications, that gave me some relief until surgery. I woke in the recovery room and felt better already. I know not everyone gets that kind of results, but i have my quality of life back because of Dr Patel. I can't thank them enough.

Visits were informative and helpful, enabling me to make the decisions needed about my care. Options were given regarding my care and the pros and cons of each were discussed. The minimally invasive surgery I had on my lumber spine worked wonders and I am able to enjoy a very active lifestyle. I fully trust Dr. Patel's judgement and expertise. Wait times at appointments could sometimes be long, but in the end what you are looking for is expertise in helping what is ailing you.

I had a consultation with Dr. Patel, and he recommended the same type of surgery that a neurosurgeon had recommended. I decided to have Dr. Patel perform my surgery and am very happy with the results. After 3 weeks post surgery, I am able to walk longer without pain then I have for years. While spinal surgery is a huge decision, I am happy I went ahead with it.

The whole thing was perfect. Dr Patel and Brian were there to answer all my questions and concerns. I'm doing great after 3 weeks. I have minimal pain and I haven't felt this good in ten years. I should have done this years ago. Thanks to the whole team. They rate a 10 from me. Thank you.

Dr Patel did surgery on my cervical spine. I would highly recommend him if you are considering spinal surgery. I debated it for a long time because of fear. I only regret I didn’t do it sooner! If you want an excellent doctor with an excellent staff..I would choose Dr. Patel.

Just want to let Everyone know if your hesitant about Spine or Neck surgery. Dr. Nilesh Patel and his team gave me back my life 2 times over. First in 2013 with a lower Spinal Fusion. And 2021 lower neck fusion. My nerve pain is gone. My years as a mail carrier wore me out. I now can enjoy my Retirement Thanks again Dr. Patel and his PA Brian. And Heather the insurance coordinator.

I am extremely happy with the outcome of the laminectomy Dr. Patel performed. He was very patient and explained the procedure clearly. My only regret is that I hadn't done it sooner!! I would definitely recommend Dr. Patel for your spinal procedure.

I have used Dr. N. Patel twice to correct my back problems. 2014 and 2020. He has been perfect and right on both times. What he said would happen has happened 100%. I will use him again if I need future work done on my "messed up" back! I can not praise him enough for his work, professionalism and care. He is among the best, and I recommend him highly. I am sending my own daughter to see him next month (Oct2021)

I WOULD GIVE 10 STARS if I could... In January 2021 Dr Patel performed a 4 level ACDF on my cervical spine. Dr. Patel took the time to explain the results of the MRI. He advised me that without immediate surgery I ran the risk of being paralyzed with any trauma to my neck. I was terrified about surgery but by the time I left the office Dr. Patel had answered the questions I had at the time. Needing time to prepare for major surgery, he ordered a hard collar to protect me until surgery. The day before surgery I called the office to ask questions and the doctor was unavailable. He called me late that evening and calmed my fears, saw me before surgery, answered all my questions, and his team was right there beside me from pre op to post op. I also had a team that saw to my needs while I was in hospital. I came home with all my needs met including home care and therapy. Dr Patel (and his team) is amazing. I am forever grateful for what he did for me. I am now 5 months post op.
