Rude
Had a cervical rediculopathy. Called office in agony. Was told they could not see me for a month. I made the appointment and they said they would call if they had any cancellations. They did not. I did not even get a reminder call for the appointment. They charged me a $100 no show fee. When I called about the fee they said they do reminder calls the day before the appointment but it is just a courtesy. Not a requirement. They are very rude.

Bad office staff
I have been going to him over a year now. He will not listen to the patient, when we know our own bodies. His staff does not returned calls as they say they will. If you tell him something it is like he is gonna let you know HE IS THE DOCTOR and knows what you need. He really doesn’t listen somethings. But the staff takes the cake. They are very very unprofessional!!!

Wasted time and money
I really hate to criticize anyone in healthcare, but sometimes a doctor-patient relationship just doesn’t work out for the best interest of the patient. I saw Dr McCoomer for a total of 4 visits over a 2 month period. From the very beginning I did not get a very good impression. The staff seemed to be very impersonal and just going through the motions of routine procedure. Dr McCoomer arrived late and appeared to be in a rush. I was having pain down one leg and explained that I have arthritis in my hips. He gave me the impression I was experiencing nerve pain from the lower back. A nerve study and SIJ injection was done in his office prior to any MRI results. The MRI was delayed due a lack of information needed from Dr McCoomer. I was in moderately severe pain daily. I went to physical therapy for my back which was not helping. After 2 months I went to another doctor who examined me and determined the problem was my hip, not the back. A torn hip labrum. I wasted time/money

Very distant with patients. Will prescribe dangerous needs against Pottstown will and not rewritten phone calls. If you need pain management and help go somewhere else.

This man is just in this business for the money. I was his patient and all he wanted to do was injections. When I refused injections, he told me that I had to find another doctor. My wife was also his patient and he could never do an injection on her because her back was in bad condition that he couldn’t position her in his office to do injections. He tried to schedule the procedure but no hospital would let him. Now all of a sudden he tells her if he can’t do the procedure then she has to find another doctor and he discharged her. There is something wrong with the way this man do business. I would advise everyone to check his credentials before going to him. If a patient tells you that something doesn’t work for them, why do you want to keep doing it.I have a friend who is a doctor that told me that anytime they do those injections, they get $2500 for every injection that’s given, so that’s why they be pushing those injections off on the patient. I do not trust him.

I been a patient of McCoomer for over a year. The first thing that he wanted to do was injections. He tried to do that but because of my back condition, I couldn’t lay on my back or side so he couldn’t do it. So he tried to admit me to the hospital but no hospital would let him do procedure on me. Then he put me on Tramadol in which I told him didn’t work in the beginning. I have allergies to a lot of pain meds and it’s hard to find one that will work and it seems as though he wasn’t interested in finding a med that works but doing the injections. So he orders MRI and sends me to see surgeon and the surgeon says no to surgery because it’s to dangerous for me to undergo at my age which is 60. I saw his NP last month and she was such a nasty demon. She got upset because I said the Tramadol wasn’t working and told me that maybe I needed to go back to Birmingham, making reference to my doctor in B’ham who is one of the top surgeon in Al. I refused injection and they discharged me

This doctor and his staff are some of the most unprofessional group of people I have had to deal with in a long time. He has the same treatment plan and would never try to change it based off the needs of the patient’s health and conditions. I get that there’s a pandemic on drugs but what these doctors most realize is not everyone has a drug addiction. A patient which is also a 5 time cancer survivor and had over 60 surgeries and has allergic reaction to most medications is by far Not fishing for meds just a understanding empathetic person and not a heartless beast to look over the care of people. This office never check blood pressure, temperature, or heart rate they just put a number in your chart and if you don’t do the treatment plan that he try’s to push on you he no longer wants you as his patient. Everyone just before you step in this office be sure to have all your facts together and what awaits on the other side bad bed side behavior and a unruly staff.

I was referred to Dr. McCoomer in February of this year by my PCM. I was in so much pain, I was going to a chiropractor for a short period and that was working but all of a sudden it changed. Dr. McCoomer diagnosed my problems and started a plan for trearment. It is now May and I am 95% better than I was back in February. His treatment worked and I thank him for releaving my pain.

Very braisin and seems to just be making the buck! Takes time on your first visit to interogate you even when you have clean urine and no history of drug abuse! After the first visit...you never see him again unless he comes in for a min. and a half to give you a few back shots and then he's out of the room at lightning speed! He orders unneeded test and rakes in the co-pays!

I went to Dr. McCoomer in horrible pain. He immediately began to be pro-active in trying to help me. Getting images to see what the problem was. Although I am not completely pain free just yet I am very hopeful for the near future.

Arrogant, uncaring and generally nasty; will not listen what the patient says; has no real empathy or understanding of chronic or acute pain. his only interest appears to be making money by suggesting procedures even when told they have been tried before with no help. He is not interested in & has no knowledge of alternative therapies such as massage, since he does not provide these. After rollover auto crash causing 3 cracked ribs, was told to ignore ER doc's advice & take OTC meds.

The Dr. acted like my pain wasn't real, he diagnosed me with something I didn't have, he acted like I wasn't in the room while telling the nurse what I needed instead of me, didn't listen to me & sent me home with a Rx from some pharm. that would mail me a Rx I could get @ my local pharm. & a back brace I sent back. l had MRI & CT which the nurse said he didn't look at them bc he knew what it was. Luckily I consulted with another Dr. and I just had back surgery 6/12 that's what was needed thanks

I have been a patient for 7 years and Dr McCoomer is a wonderful and kind physician. He provides excellent care and he truly listens to his patients. He knows about all kinds of different pain and his treatment plan has always been spot on. The office staff is great and his office manager is the kindest person I have ever met. She is always available if you have any questions and she has always been so sweet and kind to everyone. I am so thankful I was referred to Dr McCoomer.

The office staff made a mistake (which amounted to me being unable to get my pain meds in a timely manner when I needed them, causing me undue pain), when I called them on it, the office manager absolutely denied making it. So, I spoke to Dr McCoomer about it. He told me that his staff doesn’t make mistakes and that I was wrong and that I could just leave his practice. And they still had the nerve to charge my insurance for the last visit, even thought all he did was argue with me.

A very nice Dr. but never takes into fact that you may run into more pain from a new surgery.. He should work with the surgeon and not take it on his own to give less pain meds than the Dr. ordered That is so sad for such a nice DR..
