There should be a way to give a negative star review when one ends up in worse condition AFTER the doctor visit. I was given a referral with my left knee clicking and swollen. Although it was uncomfortable, it wasn't really painful. Following the painful"exam," in which he forcefully jerked both knees, he declared the total knee replacements I had 16 years early were perfectly normal, as was the clicking. It's been almost 3 weeks since his "exam" and now BOTH knees and my right ankle are still so sore and stiff that I cannot walk more than a few steps. And that's only after I meet the challenge of getting myself into a standing position. I deeply regret seeing this doctor. I definitely do not recommend.

This guy is crook. Do not go see him. He told my very active dad that he needed two total knee replacements because Romanick said: "it is clear that there is no cartilage in your knees". I advised my dad to go elsewhere, because cartilage doesn't just disappear that fast. He went to see Dr. Crozier in Austin for a second opinion. Dr. Crozier said that my dad most certainly did NOT need two total knee replacements...that in fact, there was plenty of cartilage. That the pain was coming from his ligaments and swelling. Go get a second opinion always... but just don't go see Romanick at all.

Dr. Romanick has performed surgery for my rotator cuff repair and for a reverse shoulder replacement - The staff, nurses and techs are all very dedicated and easy to work with. Dr. 'R' has a great manner about himself, always very personable, very easy to converse with and excellent with 'patience', to explain your condition, and how he can fix your problems. Both of my surgeries when very well. I ended up with no pain and recovered nicely. If you need orthopaedic surgery, please use this doctor. He is a great asset in Fredericksburg, Texas

Dr. Romanick´s office made a mistake in the MRI referral sent to the lab, omitting the MRI for my knee, which is where I was feeling pain. With that omission, the lab advised me they could not conduct an MRI on my knee. While not pleased, I realize mistakes sometimes happen. Romanick´s office acknowledged the mistake, but the customer service afforded me to get the referral re-issued was surprisingly unresponsive given that it was something that could have been easily and quickly corrected, and I was given mixed messages over several calls ranging from ¨don´t call us, we will call you,¨ to later being told ¨you were supposed to call us,¨ and ¨we will get back to you.¨ Given their lack of responsiveness and failure to correct their own error, I later saw another specialist, underwent the omitted MRI, and received subsequent treatment. It´s a good thing too as even then I still had not heard from Romanick´s office on issuance of the correct referral.

Recovery (hip joint replacement) has been far longer and far more painful than anticipated for a man in excellent shape, mostly due to a 9” anterior incision that should have been 4”. No explanation was given for this unusual length of cut/wound. Somewhat indifferent communication from the doctor has further aggravated this patient, resulting in this low rating. I will be seeking a more progressive doctor for my next surgery.

I was unhappy with the experience. Waited over an hour to see him. He was very rushed and spent about 5 min. with me. On my follow up visit (after having an MRI) I waited 1 hr. & 15 min. & then again he spent 5 min., just to tell me I had spinal stenosis. As he left the room he stated that he was sending my report to my primary physician & she would decide what action to take. When I did not hear from her, I called her office & was told Dr. Romanick was sending me to a neurosurgeon (news to me). I will not return to Dr. Romanick.

I was very disappointed. I exercise more than 5 times a week doing cardio, but sometimes my knee pain is unbearable. I have been going up and down in weight for many years. This doctor gave me hope that I would be able to get a total knee replacement, even told the nurse to call me with the details. They NEVER called, so I have had a few life changes. I went back 2 years later and now, NO, you have to loss weight before we can do surgery. I WILL find a doctor to do my knee surgery
