Dr. Stacy Tompkins, MD

My experience is she was rude, in a rush, did not follow my questions, refused to provide an adequate screening…her reviews have to be fraudulent…please don’t see this doctor

I was in a lot of pain for eczema on my lips, and when I went to see Dr. Tompkins, I was only seen by her for less than 5 minutes. 1. She made me feel stupid when I was telling her about an allergy to a medication; she told me I was using the term “allergy” incorrectly. 2. She looked at my lips for 2 seconds, and I’m not even sure she looked at the picture I showed her on my phone. 3. When I asked her what she thought could be causing the eczema and whether it could be an allergy, she responded, “we don’t do allergy tests. An allergist can do that for you. Any other questions?” I understand that eczema is not a life threatening problem. However, I was in a great deal of pain and it interfered with my ability to eat. I expected her to listen to the details of my condition history and show some compassion. At the very least, I did not expect to leave the office feeling judged, rushed, and dismissed. I am cancelling my next appointment with her, and you should too.

Everyone in this office is so nice. Minimum wait time and they whisk you right back. Very professional, but warm and friendly.

Excellent service. I was seen at my scheduled appointment time. Dr. Tompkins did a thorough skin check and offered good suggestions for my skin care. I felt she spent enough time with me and was not rushed. I will come back to Dr. Tompkins.

She was uninterested in questions I asked. Rushed thru the appointment. Charged my insurance for this she did not do. Her assistant even apologized to me.

Excellent, prompt and efficient service. In and out in 15 minutes. All on time.

Many thanks to Dr. Tompkins at West Dermatology for a thorough skin check and suggestions for sun damage protection. I was seen very soon after arriving at the office and found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Dr Tompkins has an exemplary medical background and has worked and/or trained in the best hospitals in the country. She has expertise and a kind, attentive manner. I am very satisfied with the medical care I received at West Dermatology.

Dr. Tompkins was rude to both me and her assistant. I will not be coming back.

My experience with Dr. Tompkins was extremely poor. I would not recommend seeing this doctor. I am in the healthcare profession and I have never been treated so poorly. Dr. Tompkins treated me based on my insurance, not as a human being (let alone a patient). She was completely unprofessional and would not see to my other needs beyond a mole referral. She was rude and rushed. Do not bother going to see her as a physician.

I developed a problem with angular chelitis at the corner of my mouth, and was referred to Dr. Tompkins. Dr. Tompkins explained why this was happening, prescribed an ointment, and advised me on how to prevent the problem from re-occuring in the future. She was very knowledgeable, professional and personable. Upon application of the ointment, the problem significantly improved within 24 hours. Thank you!

She is the best diagnostician and most thorough dermatologist I have ever been to. I have been previously diagnosed with five separate melanomas and thanks to Dr. Tompkins they have all been diagnosed in early stages. She always runs on time and spends as much time as you need to go over any concerns.

In my experience she was not "professional", a little rude even, and impatient. This would not have bothered me enough to write any kind of review, but what got me was how rude she was to her assistants. When Dr. Tompkins exited the exam room, followed by her assistant and myself, I watched the door slam right in the assistants face.. I have been a patient of Dr. Tompkins for over 10 years. I arrived to my most recent appointment 11 minutes late. It was a new location in UTC instead of La Jolla and there was construction going on which made me late. When I arrived I told the front office staff my name and they said "oh you're a new patient." I said "no." And they insisted I must be a new patient. Then they told me I was too late to see the doctor and I would need to reschedule. The "Office Manager" was also rude.
