I'm 60 and therefore, have plenty of experience with physicians. Former marathon runner with chronic back issues for 20+ yrs- which worsened in past 6 months. Let's face it, spinal surgery is scary. So I asked a few other Drs - who would you go to? 2 recommended Dr K. After our consult, I sought 2 other opinions from 2 highly rated SF surgeons (knowing I likely wasn't going to change my mind about Dr. K being my surgeon of choice). I always get 2-3 opinions on any procedure out of habit. Wow - what a difference among Drs. Dr K wins hands down. She stands out for the following: 1) she explained things in a simple very detailed way; 2) she made me feel like we were a team, co-consulting on the options; 3) humble surgeon is an oxymoron -- her humility is a rare gift; 4) might sound ridiculous - but she has small hands (my spine? i'll take small hands vs the gorilla hands of her male counterparts). 5) top notch staff including Cheryl her PA hands down is best PA I've ever worked with.

Dr. Kim performed minimally invasive surgery for spinal stenosis and I am pain free and back to playing golf. She was wonderful in every way from the first consult to my last follow up visit. Her office staff is also super. I am so grateful to have had her as my surgeon.

Top notch across the board. Very clear explanation of the diagnosis and potential treatment options, as well as the pros and cons of each potential approach. Her focus was 100% on what was the right course of treatment for me.
