Biography: Dr. Thannoun earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston where he also completed his residency training in internal medicine. He continued his training with a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans where he served as a chief fellow. He later completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at Baylor Scott & White in Round Rock. Dr. Thannoun is fully trained in general and interventional cardiology, including cardiac catheterization, peripheral angiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular ultrasound interpretation. Dr. Thannoun speaks both English and Spanish.

Biography: This physician is accepting telehealth visits. Dr. Bassiouny is trained in all aspects of clinical cardiac electrophysiology including catheter ablation of complex arrhythmias, placement of left atrial occlusion devices, and implantation and extraction of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators. His areas of interest include ablation of atrial fibrillation as well as endocardial and epicardial ablation of ventricular tachycardia.Dr. Bassiouny earned his medical degree with honors from Cairo University. After the completion of his residency in Egypt, he joined the Cairo University Hospital as an attending physician. Dr. Bassiouny came to the United States to complete his Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. This led to a decade of additional training and research within the Cleveland Clinic which included a second residency, a cardiovascular fellowship, and an additional year of electrophysiology fellowship.Dr. Bassiouny's research interests include atrial fibrillation and cardiac pacing and resynchronization. He has led several studies examining the optimal anticoagulation and ablation strategies for patients undergoing atrial fibrillation ablation. He has published many articles in scientific journals, several of which were cited in the American and European guidelines for atrial fibrillation ablation and cardiac resynchronization. Additionally, Dr. Bassiouny has co-authored several book chapters on the ablation of atypical accessory pathways."As a Physician, I have a responsibility to my patients as well as to the field of medicine. Biography: Joseph Imsais, MD, FACC, earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Imsais furthered his medical training by completing fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, and while there, served as Chief Fellow.Dr. Imsais is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and endovascular medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. His areas of clinical expertise include diagnostic coronary and peripheral angiography, complex coronary and peripheral interventions, pulmonary angiography and inferior vena cava placement, atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovale closures, and adult congenital heart disease. Dr. Imsais serves as Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at St. David's North Austin Medical Center.He has conducted cardiovascular disease research and authored articles for prominent medical journals and texts. He also reviews manuscripts for American Journal of Cardiology. His professional memberships include American Medical Association, American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
