Biography: Bonnie Y. Chien, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in operative and non-operative treatment of foot and ankle conditions from young adolescent to adult patients. Dr. Chien's expertise focuses on refined surgical techniques that address various foot, ankle, heel, and toe conditions. Her practice leverages minimally invasive techniques ranging from foot and ankle reconstruction to bunion corrections. Dr. Chien grew up in Taipei, Taiwan, and earned her undergraduate and medical degrees at Stanford University. She completed her Orthopedic Surgery residency at Harvard, where she served in numerous education leadership roles both in residency and on a national level. Dr. Chien received the Resident Executive Committee Award from the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program (HCORP) and completed her orthopedic subspecialty fellowship in foot and ankle at the Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Chien is active in academic research, publishing many articles, abstracts, and book chapters on ankle fractures, the management of diabetic feet, infection prevention, and total ankle replacement. As more advanced techniques in reconstruction evolve, she hopes to focus on studying if newer technologies, such as advances in implants, make a difference and are cost-effective. Dr. Chien is an active member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), the Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society (RJOS), the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Medical Association (AMA), and serves as a representative for the Health Policy Committee. Dr. Chien enjoys global exchange in orthopedic foot and surgery and has traveled internationally to Colombia, Malawi, and India to teach and perform surgeries. Dr. Chien speaks conversational Spanish and is fluent in Chinese in addition to English. With her upbringing abroad and exposure to other parts of the world, she is passionate about learning different cultures and languages and connecting with a diverse patient population in and around New York.

Biography: Dr. Katherine Rosenwasser is the Chief of Pediatric Orthopedic Trauma at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) / Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York (MSCHONY).She is an expert in the operative and non-operative treatment of lower extremity deformity and musculoskeletal trauma in pediatric patients from infants to adolescents. Her practice focuses on caring for children with limb-length discrepancies, clubfoot, congenital deformities, and those requiring complex lower extremity reconstructive surgeries. Dr. Rosenwasser's advanced training allows her to leverage the latest surgical techniques and non-operative therapies to provide life-altering interventions for young patients. After receiving her medical degree from Columbia University's Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons, Dr. Rosenwasser remained at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian where she completed residency training in orthopedic surgery, serving as executive chief resident. Following her residency, Dr. Rosenwasser completed dual fellowships in pediatric orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and pediatric limb lengthening and reconstruction under the direction of Dr. John Herzenberg at the Sinai Hospital's Ruben Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Rosenwasser is an active member of the academic orthopedic community, both as a member of numerous national organizations and as an active researcher with a variety of ongoing research projects focused on improving patient outcomes for children who require complex orthopedic care.

Biography: Dr. Charles A. Popkin specializes in pediatric, adolescent, and collegiate sports medicine, with an emphasis on the operative and non-operative treatment of complex knee disorders. His specific clinical interests involve primary and revision ACL reconstruction, patellar instability, cartilage injuries and disorders, meniscal tears, and recalcitrant patellar tendinopathy. With dual fellowships in Pediatric Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Dr. Popkin has dedicated his career to the comprehensive treatment and prevention of injury in developing athletes. He has a particular interest in the management of ice hockey injuries, serving as a team physician for USA Hockey, and on the USA Hockey National Safety and Protective Equipment Committee. Dr. Popkin is also the head team physician for: Fordham University, Mercy College, and the Hackley School in Tarrytown. In addition to his academic practice, Dr. Popkin conducts research on ACL injury prevention, ACL reconstruction techniques in the pediatric athlete, overuse injuries in youth sports, refractory patellar tendonitis, and shoulder instability in ice hockey. He pens a monthly "Ask Dr. Hockey" column for USA Hockey Magazine. Dr. Popkin lives in Westchester and enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.
