Biography: Dr. Athanasios Dousmanis is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at CUMC. A general neurologist with specialty training in neuromuscular diseases, he is board-certified in general neurology and in electrodiagnostic medicine. He treats patients with a wide variety of neurologic disorders, including: dementia and Alzheimer disease, back and neck pain, epilepsy, migraine, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, myopathy, Parkinson disease, peripheral neuropathy, radiculopathy, stroke, tremor, and vertigo.

Biography: I enjoy working, as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, treating complicated musculoskeletal disorders to maximize recovery and restore a persons sense of well-being. Biography: Comana Cioroiu, MD is a general neurological specialist with particular expertise in clinical neurophysiology and electrodiagnostic testing of neuromuscular disorders. She is a graduate of Columbia University and New York Medical College, and served as Chief Resident during her Neurology training at The Neurological Institute of NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Cioroiu remained at The Neurological Institute of New York for advanced training in Neurophysiology and Electromyography/Neuromuscular Disease before joining the faculty of the Department of Neurology at Columbia University. Biography: Saad Abdul Sami Mir, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Neurology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Neurologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He received his B.A. from Duke University and M.D. from University of Florida College of Medicine where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Society. He was also chosen as a Doris Duke Clinical Research Scholar which he completed at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his internship at Massachusetts's General Hospital, neurology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, and vascular neurology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Mir is board certified in Neurology and Psychiatry and is an expert in vascular and inpatient neurology. He was also chosen as a LEAD Fellow at New York Presbyterian Hospital where he will focus on becoming a leader in patient experience and patient reported outcomes.

Biography: Dr. Alexander Neuwirth is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in advanced hip and knee reconstruction, with a focus on non-operative and surgical treatment of early, middle, and late-stage arthritic conditions of the hip and knee. For patients requiring surgical intervention, Dr. Neuwirth specializes in anterior approach hip replacement, knee replacements, as well as complex revision surgeries to treat failed hip and knee replacements. Dr. Neuwirth received his medical degree from Rutgers University-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he also completed his undergraduate degree. Following medical school, Dr. Neuwirth trained as a resident in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also spent a year as a postdoctoral research fellowship in the McKay Orthopaedic Research Laboratory. Before joining the faculty at Columbia as an attending physician, Dr. Neuwirth completed a fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Neuwirth is actively engaged in ongoing clinical outcomes research in the field of joint replacement and reconstruction. His primary research efforts are focused on the eradication of infection following hip and knee replacements.
