Biography: Dr. Bailes has been in Pediatric practice in the Nashville area since 2005, and joined Heritage Medical Associates in July, 2008. Dr. Bailes was a Singletary Fellow at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine graduating with Honors in 2002. She went on to complete her Pediatric residency training at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. Dr. Bailes is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt, serving as a Preceptor for Pediatric residents. Dr. Bailes and her husband Shawn, have a daughter, Anna Jane (February 2011). She enjoys cooking, reading and shopping for antiques.

Biography: Dr. Jay Sulek was born in Hagerstown, MD, and completed his B.A. in English at Yale University. He attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine, in Baltimore, for his Medical Degree and began his general surgery internship at the Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Sulek continued at VCU to finish his urology residency where he received the Resident Achievement Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He completed his Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Urology at the Indiana University Medical Center the summer of 2018 and joined Urology Associates, P.C., in August of 2018.Dr. Sulek has been involved in over 10 publications and abstracts, and received the Top In-Service Award in 2016.

Biography: Dr. Michael Mertens completed medical school at University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN before completing his residency at the UT Family Medicine Residency Program in Jackson, TN. Dr. Mertens is board certified in Family Medicine. He enjoys travel, select soccer with his children and cooking.
