Biography: Michael Biersmith, MD, FACC was born and raised in southern California. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Notre Dame before obtaining his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Following this, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Washington University in St. Louis where, after graduating, he remained as faculty under the Division of Hospital Medicine. He subsequently completed a Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship at The Ohio State University before moving to Nashville, Tennessee to complete his sub-specialty fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.Dr. Biersmith holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Echocardiography. He regularly publishes research in peer-reviewed journals, presents at national meetings within various cardiovascular professional societies, and holds leadership roles within the American College of Cardiology.He sees adult patients with a broad range of acute and chronic cardiovascular ailments including coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias, and pulmonary embolism, among others, with a particular emphasis on the percutaneous management of coronary and peripheral vascular disease. Many cardiovascular diseases require a tailored approach and life-long follow-up. To this end, Dr. Biersmith offers comprehensive longitudinal care integrating best medical practices centered on the wishes of the patient, the patient's family, and input from referring health care providers. Biography: Dr. Ashley Bock is a native of Colorado. She is an alumna of Colorado State University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. Prior to starting medical school, she worked as a research associate developing medical diagnostic arrays for a proteomics company, SomaLogic, Inc., in Boulder, Colorado. She attended the University of Colorado School of Medicine, graduating in 2013, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received numerous academic, clinical, and patient care awards. She went on to complete her internship and residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina where she continued to receive accolades for patient care and was selected as an Assistant Chief Resident. She subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio and was selected by her peers as Chief Fellow. She received the Program Director's Award for her excellent leadership and was recognized by the nursing staff for her outstanding patient care in the cardiovascular intensive care unit. Dr. Bock furthered her cardiology training by completing an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic where she was elected as the Chief Fellow and was recognized as Fellow of the Year by the heart failure intensive care unit nursing staff. Dr. Bock is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. She is also board certified in Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac Echocardiography. Dr. Bock provides comprehensive heart failure services including medical management of heart failure in the outpatient, inpatient, and intensive care unit settings, right heart catheterization and hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced heart failure referral and management including left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and cardiac transplantation.
