Answered my pre-op questions, very professional. So far, so good 8 weeks out. Very understanding when I was worried about some aspects of recovery.

He replaced both knees in one surgery
He may not be a Prince Charming but he's an excellent surgeon. Knock on wood, it's been 10 years he replaced both knees with one operation ..what a miracle! I'm still seeing him for problems with bursitis in my hips. I'm glad he's still at nmortho

Dr. Junick replaced both hips
Dr. Junick was very kind and explained everything I needed to know about having both hips replaced. My first one was replaced in 2011 and my second one was replaced on 2015. They were the best surgeries I have had. Dr. Junick knows exactly what to say to calm you down.

Excellent Dr. He did my knee surgery 12 years ago. I will need surgery for my right knee and will choose him again. I would recommend Dr. Junick if you need knee surgery.

Two TKRs 6-years ago. Senior Softball outfielder.
Dr. Junick Listened to me and understood what I was going through. He replaced both of my knees 6-months apart 6 years ago. Today, I am one of the fastest outfielders in the ABQ Senior Softball League. Since my knee replacement, I experienced 3 major knee events, motorcucle accident, unicycle accident and cellulitis from sliding on Las Vegas dirty astro-turf softball fields. He has got me back to full function everytime. He is well known throughout Albuquerque Senoir softball as the go to doctor for knees.

Obnoxious lack of concern
He didn’t read the nurses notes, jumped to conclusions. Pretty much stated that all women have bursitis and was going to dismiss me with that diagnosis until I finally got him to look at the MRI notes. Basically told me I should be grateful because most women my age were in worse shape. End result he is not qualified to perform the surgery I need and offered a shot. His attitude was demeaning and all I ended up with was upset! He obviously does not like the patients or his job. Needs to retire.

Not personable, not communicative regarding diagnosis. He insisted I have bursitis which is incorrect. Misdiagnosed me and shuffled me off to a physiatrist who wanted to do an implantable spinal nerve stimulator. I would not recommend this doctor.

This man was was cocky, condescending, and dismissive of labral tears in my hips causing me pain. When i asked him what we could do about the injury he looked me in the eye and said "live with it." I told him that was an unacceptable answer. He had nothing else to offer I finally had to request steroid shots myself. I've heard from other women that he was disrespectful to them as well. I won't go to this practice again.

My experiences with Dr. Junick have been terrific. He did two total knee replacements for me and he did a terrific job both times. I would be in a wheel chair if it wasn't for him. After less than one year out of the last surgery, I can walk two miles on the beach--and I LOVE IT! Dr. Junick is personable and friendly and so is his staff.
