Passed along without even being seen.
Never got in to see the doctor after my GP sent a referral. I was told by the receptionist that, without seeing me, he recommended I go to a hand surgeon. I thought he WAS an orthopedic surgeon. Very frustrated.

Awful experience.
50 minute wait just to be seen by Dr. Gustavel for MAYBE 5 minutes. He walked in the room and had already decided what I had before he even performed his 60 second 'examination'.Because what he said was so far off of what my referring orthopedic Dr had found I asked what Gustavel thought of the imaging I came in with, to which he replied that he hadn't even looked at them.He left for another 2-3 minutes, which is how long he spent reviewing 4 x-rays and 2 MRIs, and came back and said he knew he was still right, even thought if imaging didn't support his theory. His explanation was the MRI 'must have missed it'He told me the only treatment I would get from him was cortisone shots and a script for PT.My orthopedic Dr. had sent me to him to discuss surgery for bilateral labral tears caused by hip dysplasia, an issue Gustavel didn't even reference until I brought it up and then just arrogantly brushed it off. He pushed for the shots right then and there.I then drove home in agony.

The office was able to get me in pretty quick for a consultation. Dr. G was very upfront about the options for my broken wrist and recommended me to a different surgeon. I appreciated the honesty and great bedside manner he showed!!

Dr. Gustavel has done 2 knee surgeries on me and I would highly recommend him. He takes the time to discuss your issues and options and you don't feel hurried. I was please with his care in that I was up to doing my normal routine very quickly. He has done an excellent job for me. His staff is very friendly and helpful. His office location is excellent with no parking issues.

He has done both of my knee surgeries. He is prompt, takes his time explaining the best treatment options, and the best bedside manner (my grandmother fell in love with him during pre-surgery.

Dr. Gustavel did bilateral hip surgeries on me for chronic pain in my butt. Prior to seeing him I saw his colleague who diagnosed me with degenerative disc disease. I trusted Gustavel when he said hip surgery was the answer. However, after both surgeries my pain was still there and even worse. Asked him for a back MRI which he refused. My primary care physician ordered one and sure enough, it was a BACK ISSUE. His response after surgeries, "Hard to say if it's back or hips!" Hmmm....

He has performed two knee surgeries on me in the last year. He is kind, helpful, and respectful. I have had very uncommon things happen to me, and instead of giving up, he kept working with me until he found a solution! I'd recommend him to anyone!
