Biography: Matthew B. Stahlman, MD, FACC, FSCAI has practiced cardiology in Austin since 2006. He received a bachelor degree in Biology from the University of Texas in Austin with honors in 1992. Subsequently, he attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston where he graduated at the top of his class and received the honor of becoming a Member of Alpha Omega Alpha (medical honor society). After completing an internship in Surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville Tennessee, he then completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern (Parkland Hospital) in Dallas Texas. After growing up on a shrimp boat in Southeast Texas, he went on to graduate from the University of Texas at Austin. He then pursued a career in medicine by completing medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Thereafter, he completed clinical training and board certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. He is also board certified in Echocardiography. He is a board-certified internist, cardiologist, and interventional cardiologist, treating patients with cardiovascular diseases through catheter-based minimally invasive procedures.Dr. Cigarroa earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame in 2009. In 2013, he earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). He completed an internal medicine residency at UTHSCSA followed by a one year position as chief resident and junior faculty member in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Cigarroa furthered his medical training by completing a cardiovascular disease fellowship at UTHSCSA in 2020 followed by an interventional cardiology fellowship at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan in 2021. Each year throughout his training, he was recognized as the "resident or fellow of the year" by his peers. He also received the Gold Humanism Honor Society Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award on two occasions. Throughout his training, Dr. Cigarroa was selected to perform oral and poster presentations at numerous conferences throughout the country. Biography: Michael Bode, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in interventional cardiology. Dr. Bode earned his medical degree from the University of Freiburg in Germany.He then continued his studies at the University of North Carolina where he was involved in biomedical research and completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship training. He pursued multiple additional fellowships as a cardiologist. During his time as clinical and research fellow at Harvard Medical School he completed an Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. He continued to specialize in interventional procedures by completing a Structural Heart Disease and Vascular Intervention fellowship at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center.
