Biography: Dr. Michelle Santoyo is a full time, board certified attending physician practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology. As of February 2019, she has joined Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates and is eager to serve the Mount Sinai community. Dr. Santoyo attended medical school at Albert Einstein School of Medicine, graduating in 2007. She completed her residency at North Shore University Hospital in 2011. After twelve years of clinical experience, Dr. Santoyo has developed superior surgical skills and obstetrical expertise, delivering professional and compassionate care to her patients. Dr. Santoyo understands a comprehensive approach to women's health. She enjoys incorporating lifestyle changes and encourages non-invasive approaches to treatment. Dr. Santoyo has a particular interest in obstetrics, family planning, and performing gynecologic operative hysteroscopies. She also enjoys working with adolescent and pediatric populations, emphasizing various preventative health care strategies in a comfortable and secure setting, while guiding young women to be advocates for their own health. Dr. Santoyo was honored to represent the junior fellow division of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She served as ACOG district chair for the region during her second and third years of residency In 2009, as a second-year resident, Dr Santoyo created a mentoring program between senior and intern residents. Once an attending at North Shore Hospital, she also served as a faculty mentor for minority students and as a clinical preceptor for many nurse practitioners. Dr. Santoyo is a very caring and supportive physician. She speaks fluent Spanish. She enjoys the outdoors, traveling, running, and CrossFit. She understands the demands placed on women and makes it her mission to promote their overall well being.
